Two PKK terrorists have been neutralized in an operation carried out by gendarmerie forces in Turkey's southeastern Hakkari province, the governorate said on Sunday.
According to a statement, provincial gendarmerie special forces held an operation in the Cobandagi region of Kavakli village, where another air operation neutralized three PKK terrorists on Friday.
"Two separatist terror group members, a woman and a man were neutralized after they opened fire at security forces who warned them to surrender," the statement said.
Turkish authorities often use the word "neutralized" in their statements to imply the terrorists in question either surrendered or were killed or captured.
In its more than 30-year terror campaign against Turkey, the PKK -- listed as a terrorist organization by Turkey, the U.S. and the EU -- has been responsible for the deaths of nearly 40,000 people, including women and children.
