As previously reported, the Embassy of Mexico in Azerbaijan participates for the third consecutive year in the Weeks of La Francophonie. On this occasion, was discussed the influence of the French language and culture on three great authors of Mexican literature: Alfonso Reyes, Octavio Paz and Carlos Fuentes, in a conference presented by the Ambassador of Mexico, Rodrigo Labardini, that took place on April 11, at the Azerbaijani University of Languages.
In his presentation, the Ambassador compared and revealed a series of similarities and convergences between the three authors, who lived, were friends, wrote works and were Mexican diplomats in France. In addition, he indicated that, over time, French culture in Mexico has been reflected in various areas such as architecture, gastronomy, fashion and of course, literature.
The second part of the event was in charge of the students of the Azerbaijani University of Languages, who recited poems in an emotive way and read fragments of the works of the Mexican writers in Spanish and its translation into the French language, which was a literary delight for the audience.
