The Baku Media Center's documentary project, "A Woman Seeking Death," has clinched victory in the international co-production competition hosted by the prestigious Polish Film Institute, Ednews reports.
Following rigorous evaluation, the Polish Film Institute announced its decision to extend financial backing to the project, underscoring its commitment to fostering cross-cultural cinematic collaborations. The support entails comprehensive assistance encompassing editing, sound design, color correction, and distribution, all to be executed by seasoned Polish specialists within the country.
This marks a historic moment as it represents the maiden instance of a film project from Azerbaijan receiving financial endorsement from the esteemed Polish Film Institute. Amid stiff competition, "A Woman Seeking Death" emerged triumphant, standing out among hundreds of contenders vying for the coveted support.
Helmed by chief producer Arzu Aliyeva and directed by Fariz Ahmadov, with screenplay contributions from Ahmadov and Ismayil Iman, the film is a testament to the resilience and bravery of female deminers operating in recently liberated territories. The project sheds light on the Women Deminers initiative spearheaded by the International Eurasia Press Fund (IEPF), showcasing their noble efforts in clearing landmines and restoring safety to affected communities.
