German engineering giant Bosch is investing around 45 million euros in its Hungarian plant in Miskolc. New production lines and testing equipment for next generation products will be installed within the framework of the investment project, to be completed by 2021.

“Companies have never before invested as much money [in Hungary] as they did last year,” said the Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade Péter Szijjártó. “Ninety-eight major investments were announced by enterprises with a total value of 4.3 billion euros.”

“The investment will further strengthen the strategic importance of the Miskolc automotive plant and its already high-ranking global position,” said Frank-Stephan Kupfer, commercial plant manager of Robert Bosch Energy and Body Systems.

“Product development at the Miskolc site involves engineering support for the projects at the point of production, to meet special customer requirements. This ensures the optimum utilisation of existing and new production lines,” added Jochen Limberger, technical plant manager.
