Civil Society Forum held in Brussels on 31 January and 1 February became a good platform for discussion of one of the global concerns, the issue related to migration. The forum was attended by a number of non-governmental organizations, civil society representatives, as well as volunteers and activists campaigning for support for the rights of migrants, IDPs (internally displaced persons) and refugees.
In addition to various organizations from more than 10 countries of the European Union (EU), the International Eurasia Press Fund (IEPF), officially registered in Azerbaijan since 1992, was represented by the Chairman Umud Mirzayev and by the assistant to the chairman Anastasia Lavrina. Work with migrants, refugees and IDPs is one of the main directions of the Fund.
In its interview for CBC Channel (Azerbaijan) in the program titled "Честно говоря", Anastasia Lavrina spoke about the main issues discussed during the Forum. Moreover, she expressed her opinion on the question why Azerbaijan and the EU should strengthen cooperation in dealing with refugees, migrants, IDPs and asylum seekers.
