Anna Maria Rozek is the youngest member of the Warsaw City Council. As for profession being international lawyer, Ms. Rozek gave an interview to Eurasia Diary within the Economic Forum in Krynica, Poland. In her response to Eurasia Diary’s questions, she talked about bilaterial ties and future prospectives of joint cooperation between Warsaw and Baku.
Eurasia Diary: Ms. Rozek, firstly we would like to get brief information about your activity. Which kind of impressions do you have about Baku?
Anna Maria Rozek: I like to travel and to share ideas regarding the tourism. As a part of my job, I have great experience on travelling to Africa continent. Unfortunately, I have never been in Baku. Thus, thanks to my friends living in Baku, I have pretty much information and good impression about Baku. I hope, I will take a trip to Baku soon. I’ve heard that Baku developed and changed. It is important for me to explore the fact for Warsaw city which I am currently representing. As far as I know that Baku is also safe place. That’s all my impressions about Baku.
Eurasia Diary: What do you think about the mutual cooperation between Warsaw City Council and Baku City Mayor? Which fields can we improve in bilaterial relations?
Anna Maria Rozek: It is a pity that still there is no any partnership agreement between Warsaw City Council and Baku city Mayor. But I hope that we can start cooperation in the near future. We are open for such kind of collaboration. It is also useful for businessmen from both countries. By this way they can visit Baku and would see if there are any possibilities for the development of their business. Azerbaijani businessmen and others can come to our city, too. In addition we can also organize student exchange, scientific and technological events. It is a field that we should work on it in the future.
Eurasia Diary: How does Warsaw attract Azerbaijani tourists? Generally how many tourists visit Warsaw annually?
Anna Maria Rozek: Let me frankly tell you. Poland is still a second choice for tourists who come to Europe. People choose France and Italy. We have difficulties to make Poland more attractive for tourists. We promote touristic places of the country to show tourists that Poland has considerably changed. For instance Krakow is a magnifique city. Poland’s mountains are fully green. Possibly you can’t see such kind of beauty in any other place. Moreover, our people are so kind and friendly. I guess, indeed it is needed to come to Poland and explore it. Tourists mostly think to go Italy and France and then take a trip to Poland. It shows that Poland is not well-known as a touristic country. Me and my colleagues are eager to change this situation. But I can’t do it alone. In any case, I’m trying to do best for my country. At the end I invite all Azerbaijani touirists to Poland and especially Warsaw.
Eurasia Diary: Ms. Anna thank you for an interview.
