Chairman of Turkey Lawyers Association, Professor on Criminal Law and lawyer Metin Feyzioglu in his exclusive interview about current processes in Turkey.
Eurasia DIary: How long emergency situation will continue? If it is extended against law, what negative results it will entail?
Metin Feyzioglu: Emergence situation is constitutional form of state administration, but it is temporary or we are expecting that it will be passed temporarily.
Emergency situation was proclaimed after 15 July coup. Unfortunately, the emergency situation is promoted as like evading citizens from political society. Turkey’s 79 million population include different sectors, various religions, diverse ethnic groups and all of them have different political ideas. Therefore, it is impossible to govern this huge country by regime of one person. This situation prevents Turkey from progressing. It is impossible continue to manage in this way. Thus, I and other politicians criticize this political circumstance in favor of our country and nation’s interests.
