"Members of the Turkish-Azerbaijani interparliamentary friendship group will visit Azerbaijan on February 17," member of the Grand National Assembly of Turkey of Azerbaijani descent, head of the Turkish-Azerbaijani interparliamentary friendship group Shamil Ayrim said.
The Turkish MP noted that he is always focused on bringing the realities of Azerbaijan, Nagorno - Karabakh conflict to the world attention: "I do not imagine two fraternal countries - Azerbaijan and Turkey - separate from each other. Azerbaijan and Turkey who move side by side are today bound with even closer ties. The grandiose energy projects implemented under the leadership of Presidents of Turkey and Azerbaijan Recep Tayyip Erdogan and Ilham Aliyev have been spoken of much in the past years. The projects implemented by SOCAR today continue successfully in Turkey."

The MP noted that the Khojaly genocide is commemorated in the Turkish parliament every year: "We view it as a massacre, a genocide and urge the world to assess it this way too. Azerbaijan demands its own lands back, not claiming for others' lands. Armenians terminated the entire cultural heritage of Azerbaijan, historical monuments, our mosques and values in the occupied territories. Who will be brought to justice for that? There are more than a million of displaced persons. But the world does not want to see it. The double standards existing in the world hinder the resolution of the Karabakh conflict."
