Polish President Andrzej Duda and his Lithuanian counterpart, Dalia Grybauskaite, have signed a joint declaration pledging to cooperate on security issues, according to reports.
The declaration also champions the presence of US army soldiers in Central and Eastern Europe.
Duda said: “I believe that in the next few months we will know the US administration’s decision” on stepping up its engagement in central Europe. He added that he hoped that Washington would boost the number of troops in the region and expand security infrastructure and US military equipment.
