The Czech Republic is carrying out an embargo on arms supplies to the region of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict, said Czech Defense Minister Lubomír Metnar in Yerevan at a joint press conference with Armenian Defense Minister David Tonoyan.
Asked to comment on the supply of Czech equipment to Azerbaijan, the minister noted that the topic is being discussed in the Czech media.
Czech Republic fulfills the requirements of international norms and its own legislation and strictly controls the process of licensing the export of military equipment, he said adding that deliveries of howitzers were not carried out by the Czech Republic, but by third parties.
The minister noted that Czech Republic complies with the requirements of the international embargo and do not license supplies to Azerbaijan.
The Czech Republic fulfills the requirements of the embargo, in particular, the OSCE on restrictions on the supply of military equipment to the region, he said adding that the country contributes exclusively to the peaceful resolution of the conflict.
