On April 14, the Ministry of Defense of Russia mentioned for the first time the existence of operational strategic group "Sever" in its daily updates.
Ednews reports citing to KyivPost news that, "in the Belgorod sector, units of the "Sever" forces group hit the personnel and equipment of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) in Ternova and Hatishche settlements of Kharkiv region and Sumy region with the support of aviation and artillery. Currently, Russia has five approved operational strategic groups in Ukraine, including the Center (Center), Yug (South), Zapad (West), Vostok (East) and Dnipro groups.
The Ukrainian publication "Information resistance" said that the group was created on the basis of the former border group consisting of military units of the Bryansk, Kursk and Belgorod regions bordering Ukraine, and two military units were transferred to the new group, the 11th group.
