US State Secretary Mike Pompeo congratulated Iranian people on Yalda Night in Twitter account. He used quotes by Nizami Ganjavi and wish his best to the people.
But, the problem is a poet is not Persian. Nizami Ganjavi lived in Ganja, Azerbaijan. This action generally is a disrespect to the culture of Azerbaijan.
As the proud people of #Iran celebrate the longest night of the year & the victory of light over darkness, I wish for them prosperity and freedom. As the Persian poet Nezami said, “even in hopelessness there is hope; at the end of a dark night there is light.” Happy #Yalda!
