Two Turkish nationals have been detained by the Investigative Agency of the Georgian Ministry of Finance for the possession and sale of counterfeit money in large quantities.
The investigation revealed that the individuals exchanged counterfeit money worth 7000 euro in a currency exchange booth in Batumi in December 2018.
Law enforcers seized 6000 euro in counterfeit bills from the apartment of the detainees, Agenda.ge reported.
The crime is punishable by imprisonment for seven to ten years.
