The United Nations International Children's Emergency Fund (UNICEF) in Azerbaijan and the International Eurasia Press Fund (IEPF) held an event in Terter region dedicated to the results of the jointly implemented Azerbaijan Youth Advocate Program (AYAP) project for 2018.
Eurasia Daily reports that the AYAP Advisory Council members demonstrated different ideas on social issues through various pieces of Forum Theatre. The performance was followed by an exchange of views on the demonstrated topics. In the end, the participants were certificated.
The event was attended by representatives of the Executive Power of Terter, Barda and Goranboy regions, each of the three project districts - the head of Terter Region Executive Power Mustagim Mammadov, Deputy Mayor of Goranboy Mirvari Aghamaliyeva and Deputy Head of Barda Region Executive Power Faget Shadlinskaya, UNICEF representative Natig Umarov and President of the International Eurasia Press Fund (IEPF) Umud Mirzayev, members of the Youth Advisory Board on the project implementation, teachers and parents. New ideas and proposals were voiced by the members of the AYAP Advisory Board. The action plan of the Azerbaijan Youth Advocate Program (AYAP) for 2019 was discussed with local executive authorities.
It should be noted that the Azerbaijan Youth Advocate Program (AYAP) has been being implementing since 2011 within the framework of the joint efforts of the UNICEF in Azerbaijan and the IEPF. The main objective of the project is to educate the youth of the region on the today's global challenges, to provide new knowledge and skills, to build leadership qualities, to support their participation in the decision-making process, and to use their potential for the right and purposeful development of the regions.
