Susan Boyle has revealed that she wasn’t aware of her own fame until Hollywood literally came a calling with a shout-out by Ashton Kutcher.
The West Lothian native became an internet sensation thanks to her Britain’s Got Talent audition back in 2009, and Ashton was one of the first celebs she recognised to share her special moment.
Performing I Dreamed a Dream in front of the BGT judges, Susan went viral almost overnight as viewers the world over were taken in with her charming and outgoing personality, as well as angelic singing voice.
But shockingly, Susan was completely oblivious to most of it – until A-lister Ashton Kutcher shared the video on Twitter. Speaking to People, she said: ‘I really didn’t comprehend just how far the audition clip had gone! I’m not computer savvy … so Twitter and YouTube and everything that happened when Ashton Kutcher tweeted really took my breath away.’
After turning her back on showbiz for a few years, she’s now better than ever ‘Back in 2009, I said all my life I had been an outsider looking in and now I get to be a part of it, and that stands true today,’ Susan added.
You go, SuBo! After shunning the spotlight after just a few years of a glittering career, Susan has come back fighting and landed Mel B’s Golden Buzzer on America’s Got Talent: The Champions.
This means that she’s now guaranteed a spot in the upcoming public voting shows, after performing Wild Horses and bringing the house down.
However, if the comments under a behind-the-scenes pic of her waiting for her audition is anything to go by, she’s already a champion in her fans eyes.
