Turkish football club Galatasaray held talks with Russia’s Zenit St. Petersburg FC and agreed on loan transfer of Russian club’s striker Artem Dzyuba, Turkey’s daily Posto reported on Monday.
According to the daily, the 29-year-old Russian forward will be playing for the Turkish football club on loan terms, however, the expiration and other details of the agreement were not disclosed.
Galatasaray FC is last season’s champion of the Turkish national football championship, while its French forward Bafetimbi Gomis was named the best striker of the tournament for having scored 29 goals.
Dzyuba played for Spartak Moscow FC before signing a contract with Zenit St. Petersburg as a free agent in 2015. The forward played in 158 matches for Zenit FC having chalked up 36 goals and 23 assists. The second half of last season he played on loan for Arsenal FC in Tula, where he scored six goals and made three assists in 10 matches.
Playing for the Russian national team, the 29-year-old forward scored 14 goals and made eight assists in 28 matches. During the 2018 FIFA World Cup in Russia, where the hosting team managed to advance to the quarterfinals round, Dzyuba scored three goals and addition to two assists in five matches.
