Juventus chief reveals his club are open to the prospect of Paul Pogba returning to Turin

Juventus sporting director Fabio Paratici has revealed his club has considered launching a bid to bring Paul Pogba back to Turin.

Pogba has struggled to live up to his billing at Manchester United after a world record £89m transfer in the summer of 2016 and has been strongly linked with a move to Barcelona in recent months.

French World Cup winner Pogba has stated that he still views Juventus as his 'other home' alongside United and it seems the door to a return could be ajar after Paratici offered up these comments to Sky Italia.

"A return? We have already discussed this many times," he said of Pogba. "He's a great player we've had before and are fond of, but now he plays for Manchester United.

"We are the exploring the market, the president and Pavel Nedved, with the help of the coach (Massimiliano) Allegri.

"To improve the team we are always careful. We still have great players and we enjoy them. It will not be easy to always have so many strong ones."

Pogba is believed to have a fraught relationship with United manager Jose Mourinho and claims have emerged in recent days suggesting the pair had a fresh bust-up in the dressing room after last Saturday's 2-2 draw against Southampton.

Mourinho repeatedly stated in his post match press interviews that his side's primary problem was giving the ball away in midfield, with Pogba guilty of surrendering possession on numerous occasions at St Mary's Stadium.

Yet Mourinho distanced himself from those rumours when pressed by reporters for a comment on what went on in his dressing room after the game.

"I quoted one thing in an interview I gave to Brazilian TV  that you can go there and see what I told and another thing is to be quoted who or how. I don't play that game," he said of the report of a clash with Pogba.

"You saw me in the press conference. You saw me in the flash interviews (after the Southampton game), you know what I told. That's simple. You go to my words what I told to TV, press conferences. Another thing is somebody said I 'told' and I don't play that game."
