Referring to awful humanitarian and food conditions in Yemen, he called for financial aid to fight this crisis, Turkish media 'Anadolou Agency' quoted Lowcock as saying in a press conference.
The UN intends to provide food aid for 15 million Yemenis by next year, he added.
The United Nations Secretary General António Guterres is scheduled to hold an international conference in Geneva aiming at attracting financial aid for Yemeni people, he reiterated.
He went on to say that $4 billion will be required for Yemeni people next year.
Saudi Arabia and a number of its regional allies launched a devastating military campaign against Yemen in March 2015, with the aim of bringing the government of Mansour Hadi back to power and crushing the country’s Ansarullah Movement.
Some 16,000 Yemenis have been killed and thousands more injured since the onset of the Saudi-led aggression.
The assaults of the Saudi-led coalition forces have failed to stop the Yemenis from resisting the aggression.
