Mexico''s new representative to the United Nations, Juan Ramon de la Fuente, reaffirmed his country stance with respect to Venezuela, by advocating for talks as the best solution to any crisis.
'But dialogue should not be subjected to any type of conditioning, nor external pressures, because it only limits the willingness of the sides to sit down and talk, he told the media after meeting UN Secretary General Antonio Guterres and presenting his credentials.
With Guterres he talked over Mexico's initiative to facilitate a dialogue in Venezuela. 'We should let nations decide by themselves; it is up to the Venezuelan people to find a solution through dialogue,' De la Fuente stressed.
The talks should take place without prior conditioning that moves the parties away from sitting to talk, the Mexican ambassador reiterated.
