Michael Jackson's estate is suing HBO for $100m (£77m) over the controversial documentary Leaving Neverland.
They claim the film, which details the singer's alleged sexual abuse of two boys, breaches a non-disparagement clause in an old contract.
A complaint filed at Los Angeles Superior Court on Thursday read: "Michael Jackson is innocent. Period."
In response, HBO said it would not only still air Dan Reed's documentary, but bring it forward by several days.
