US President Donald Trump announced the Islamic Revolutionary Guards Corps (IRGC) as "a terrorist group". Naturally, the decision by Trump faces condemnation of Iran.
The Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif had written a letter to President Hassan Rouhani, who is the head of National Security Supreme Council, recommending him designate the US Central Command (US CENTCOM), which is responsible for the troops in the Middle East, on Iran’s list of terrorist organizations according to ‘the law of dealing with human rights violations and US adventurous and terrorist acts in the region’, previously approved by the Iranian parliament.
“IRGC has uprooted terrorism in Iran,” Iranian President Hasan Rouhani praised the activities of IRGC.
US has made a big mistake by putting IRGC on its terror list and has sacrificed the interests of American people and others across the world for the interests of a host of Zionists, he added.
Regional Support to Iran
Eurasia Diary informs citing International Quran News Agency that US blacklisting IRGC was condemned by several allies of Iran in the Middle East.
According to al-Manar TV network, Syria’s foreign ministry denounced the step taken by Donald Trump as a colonialist plot to dominate the region.
A source in the Syrian foreign ministry said it is aimed at serving the Zionist regime of Israel.
Iraq’s Foreign Minister Mohamed Ali Alhakim also said his country would not accept US sanctions imposed on Iran.
Moreover, Yemeni political parties slammed the decision, saying the US is the leading terrorist in the world because it has created and supported terrorist groups like Al-Qaeda and Daesh.
"Brandishing IRGC as a terrorist group is essentially an act of terror itself,” Senior member of Turkey’s Republican People's Party (CHP), Osman Faruk logoglu said.

Yemen’s Foreign Ministry said that the move was a “step in the right direction because it will have a positive impact on regional and international security and peace.”
Bahrain welcomed on Monday the designation with its Foreign Ministry stressing the importance of this decision in addressing the dangerous role played by the IRGC in the region.
It said the IRGC was a “destabilizing force and the main contributor to the spread of violence and terrorism across the Middle East and the entire world.”
Saudi Arabia welcomed Washington’s decision to designate Iran's elite Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps a foreign terrorist organisation, Saudi state news agency, Spa, said on Tuesday.
Israel welcomed the US move. Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu thanked Trump on Twitter for responding to another of his important requests in apparent reference to the blacklist announcement.
Netanyahu also praised Trump last year when the US president decided to withdraw from the Iran nuclear agreement. He suggested that the US decision was in line with his request.
