The Libyan National Army (LNA) shot down a Turkish drone near the city of Trahuna, EDNews.net reports citing Bulgarian Military News.
The LNA shot down a Turkish drone in Tarhun in western Libya,” the report said.
The Turkish army officially sided with the Government of National Accord (PNC) in the civil war in Libya. PNS and LNA are parties to the conflict.
This is not the first case LNA downed a Turkish drone. Recall that on January 24 Turkish drone was shot down by Libyan National Army (LNA), which was preparing to attack its positions in the Tripoli region.
Yesterday, the LNA Major General Ahmed al-Mesmari warned Turkey that they are “fighting a war against the Turkish Armed Forces, with all of our arms. We will never stain ourselves with what armed groups do. When we entered Zliten, al-Adzhayilat and other cities of the region, we did not break into any house. We went into the cities to drive out the terrorists.”
BulgarianMilitary.com recalls that on March 5 this year the Libyan Army conducted lethal attacks on Tripoli’s Mitiga air base.
According the news agency the LNA attack has been caused heavy human and material casualties among Turkish soldiers and mercenaries.
Then, the artillery hit his targets precisely at the Mitga Air Base, which houses, among other things, the Turkish military hall.
