Foreign Minister of Russia Sergey Lavrov stated that it is necessary to 'urgently bring to senses’ the Ukrainian authorities due to the escalation in Donbas as RT reported.
“Unfortunately, every time when we meet in Normandy Format or in other formats at the level of the leaders, representatives, foreign ministers, we do not observe active actions from the side of our French and German colleagues on bringing the Ukrainian side to senses. There is too much evidence that it should be done urgently,” Lavrov said.
According to him, the Russian side is deeply concerned about the recent statements of the Ukrainian side on Donbas.
“We will talk about it with our European colleagues. We hope that Washington also has the proper understanding of the things,” he added.
However, western countries proceed from the fact that ‘it is necessary to support the Ukrainian authority comprehensively in its absolutely unacceptable actions and statements’.
“Obvious violations of all Minsk Agreements by Kyiv are present. Now, Kyiv moved from critics of the political framework of the Donbas crisis settlement to threats of combat actions. I hope it might shake up such rosy attitude in European capitals and they will demand from Mr. Zelensky to fulfill Minsk Agreements in full,” Lavrov underlined.
Recently, the escalation is observed in the zone of Donbas Conflict. During the past 24 hours, the militants violated the ceasefire seven times and two Ukrainian military men were killed.
Due to this fact, Ukraine initiates the urgent extraordinary meeting of the Trilateral Contact Group to discuss the urgent adoption of measures on restoration of ceasefire regime.
