Egypt has presented a three-phase plan to end the war in the Gaza Strip to Israel and the Palestinian Hamas movement, Ednews informs via foreign media.
According to the information, Israeli authorities intend to consider the initiative.
The proposed plan includes a humanitarian truce in which Hamas would release 40 captive women, children and elderly men in exchange for the release of 120 Palestinian prisoners and a review of humanitarian aid supplies to Gaza by Israel.
At the next stage, Egypt proposed creating a government of technocrats in Gaza, which would oversee issues of humanitarian assistance, restoration of the enclave, as well as preparations for presidential elections in Palestine.
The final stage will be a complete ceasefire and the release of all captured Israeli soldiers. The parties must also determine the number of Palestinian prisoners to be released by Israel.
