Head of the Hamas Politburo Ismail Haniyeh confirmed that three his sons and several grandchildren were killed in an Israeli strike in the Gaza Strip, Ednews reports citing Al Jazeera.
"I thank Allah for the honor that He did me by taking three my sons and several grandchildren," the Hamas leader said, adding that he has lost "at least 60 family members" because of Israeli actions, according to Al Jazeera.
He underscored that his sons "stayed with the Palestinian people" until the end and have not left the Gaza Strip.
The Hamas leader himself currently lives in Doha.
