Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu heavily criticized Tuesday the arrest warrants International Criminal Court (ICC) Prosecutor Karim Khan filed against him, his Defense Minister and Hamas leadership, comparing the conflict with the 9/11 attacks in the United States and World War II.
"[Karim Khan] is creating a false symmetry between the democratically elected leaders of Israel and the terrorist chieftains. That's like saying after 9/11, 'Well, I'm issuing arrest warrants for George Bush, but also for [Osama] bin Laden,' or after World War 2, 'Well, I'm issuing arrest warrants for FDR [Franklin D. Roosevelt,] but also for Hitler," Netanyahu said in an interview to Good Morning American.
Moreover, he said that the ICC's head is "pouring gasoline on the fires of anti-Semitism that are spreading around the world."
