The Turkish armed forces "neutralized" more than 100 militants of the Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK) group in seven days, local media reported.
According to the Anadolu news agency’s Friday report citing the Turkish General Staff, as many as 105 PKK members were killed in operations in Turkey's east and southeast.
The operations took place on October 20-26 in the provinces of Hakkari, Agrı, Sırnak, Diyarbakır, Bingol, Batman, Bitlis and Siirt.
Tensions between Ankara and the PKK escalated in July 2015 when a ceasefire between the sides collapsed over a series of terror attacks allegedly committed by the members of the group, which is outlawed in Turkey as a terrorist organization.
