On April 22, 2025, during a plenary session of the National Assembly, the Audit Chamber of the Republic of Azerbaijan presented its annual report for 2024. EDnews inform that it was delivered by the Chamber’s Chairman, Vüqar Gülməmmədov.They also discusses the results achieved,current risks deemed relevant for the respective sector, and points requiring attention.
This is highlighted in 2024, the Audit Chamber successfully implemented 91.7% of its operational plan, conducting 45 oversight activities, including audits and analytical reviews. These activities encompassed a total of 18.2 billion manat. Notably, the Chamber conducted its first-ever audit of state debt and the Iğdır–Nakhchivan gas pipeline project.Additionally, it finalized 42 audits and identified financial violations amounting to 575 million manat, along with 2 billion manat in financial misstatements and compliance issues. The Chamber also signed a procurement contract worth 399,000 manat.
Following the presentation, members of the Milli Məclis engaged in discussions, offering feedback and suggestions. The report, which aligns with the Chamber’s 2021–2025 Strategic Plan and complies with international standards, was subsequently put to a vote and adopted by the Assembly .This annual report underscores the Audit Chamber’s commitment to enhancing financial accountability and transparency within Azerbaijan’s public sector.
