Tequila tasting event became a tradition in the Mexican Embassy in Azerbaijan. Today, the Embassy has held another degustation. The information was given about the history, preparation procedure and etc to the guests.
Tequila is a brand of Mexico and made by blue agave. Tequila was first produced in the 16th century near the location of the city of Tequila, central Mexico before European contact.
The Mexican ambassador to Azerbaijan Mr Juan Rodrigo Labardini Flores opened the tasting event. 5 types of tequila with different tastes were introduced to guests. The guests were got acquainted for the tequila brands of the company of Tequilas del Senor Destileria Rio De Plata.
Cesar Garcia founded Rio de Plata the tequila company in 1943 in Guadalajara, now it is called Tequilas del Senor. The company is able to produce 6 million litres tequila.
Sombrero Negro the silver colored light tequila, Herencia de Plata with eucalypt aroma, Reserva del Senor with caramel taste were among the brands introduced to guests.
The producers of tequila gave information about the drinks and the tastes of them.
152 certified companies produced 271 millions of litres every year with 1684 brands in Mexico. The main markets are the USA, Germany, France, Spain and Japan.
Azerbaijan is also among the buyers of this Mexico's brand. The promotion of tequila in Azerbaijan is intended to increase trade between the two countries.
