Uzbekistan and Turkey signed a package of documents with total sum of over US$1 billion, Jahon news agency reported.
The document was signed within the visit of the delegation of Uzbekistan led by Deputy Prime Minister Rustam Azimov to Turkey from 26 February to 2 March 2017.
The Uzbek delegation held talks with the Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, Prime Minister Binali Yıldırım.
The sides noted that the visit of the delegation of Uzbekistan to Turkey to bolster mutual beneficial contacts among business circles of two states and strengthen bilateral relations.
The delegation of Uzbekistan also held talks with the Turkish Deputy Prime Minister Tuğrul Türkeş, who is co-chair of the Intergovernmental commission on trade-economic cooperation, Economy Minister Nihat Zeybekçi, Minister of Culture and Tourism Nabi Avci, as well as heads of large companies and private structures.
Within the framework of the visit, the Uzbek-Turkish business forum, round tables, working meetings were held in Istanbul and Ankara. In the results of these meetings and negotiations, Uzbekistan and Turkey signed a package of documents for over $ 1 billion.
During these meetings and negotiations, the sides determined the priority directions for the development of economic cooperation between Uzbekistan and Turkey. The sides also discussed issues of further development of tourism infrastructure in Uzbekistan.
Representatives of Uzbekistan and Turkey also discussed issues of interaction between countries in the field of transport communications.
