There are long history humanitarian ties between Azerbaijan and Udmurtia. Free courses of Azerbaijani language are operating in the region. Azerbaijani Cultural-Educational center “Friendship” and youth organizations are active. More than 130 nations live in Udmurtia. By this our region is very similar to Azerbaijan, where a multinational population lives on a compact territory in friendship and harmony. Therefore, we are interested in further development of humanitarian relations with Azerbaijan, "said Alexander Svinin.
The Deputy Minister of Economy of Azerbaijan, Niyazi Safarov, in his turn told Eurasia Diary that Azerbaijan as a whole is optimistic about the development of trade and economic bilateral relations between Azerbaijan and the regions of the Russian Federation
"Thanks to the presentation, which was presented by the Udmurt side at today's forum, we noted a number of areas of current and possible cooperation. This is the machine-building industry, and the furniture industry, "Niyazi Safarov said.
He also noted that Azerbaijan from its side is ready to boost ties with Udmurtia in industrial area.
"There are many enterprises in Azerbaijan that produce competitive products. The country is ready to export it to Udmurtia. Azerbaijan is also interested in establishing joint ventures with the Russian region.
Let us note that today the 9th Russian-Azerbaijani inter-regional forum is taking place in Baku, where Vladimir Putin and Ilham Aliyev take participation.
The event is organized by the Ministry of Economic Development of the Russian Federation in cooperation with the Ministry of Economy of the Republic of Azerbaijan with the support of the Rosсongress Foundation. Among the participants and speakers of the forum are the Minister of Economic Development of the Russian Federation Maxim Oreshkin, Minister of Economy of the Republic of Azerbaijan Shahin Mustafayev, extraordinary and plenipotentiary ambassadors of the two countries, heads of regions, representatives of the business community and experts. The forum is aimed at developing trade-economic and humanitarian ties between the regions of Russia and Azerbaijan
