Italy invests $6.6 billion in economy of Kazakhstan

Italy has invested $6.6 billion in the economy of Kazakhstan by today, the MFA of Kazakhstan said following the first Kazakh-Italian business forum in Nur-Sultan, Eurasia Diary reports citing AKIpress.

The event, organized as part of the working visit of the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Italy Manlio Di Stefano to Kazakhstan was attended by over 200 representatives of business circles, national companies, government bodies of the two countries.

The participants discussed the development of projects in the field of energy, renewable energy, the petrochemical, manufacturing and agricultural sectors were discussed.

In his speech, Italian Deputy Foreign Minister Manlio Di Stefano noted that over the years of independence and the transition to a market economy, Kazakhstan has managed to achieve significant successes.

During the forum, the sides noted that the earlier reached agreements and the decisions gave impetus to enhance bilateral economic cooperation.

The first Kazakh-Italian business forum was organized by the Embassy of Italiy in Kazakhstan, JSC " NC "KAZAKH INVEST", JSC " SWF "Samruk-Kazyna" and the company "ITA italian trade agency".

The foreign trade turnover of Kazakhstan with Italy in 8 months of 2019 amounted to 6.7 billion dollars. About 270 companies with the participation of Italian capital work in Kazakhstan.
