Uzbekistan will reopen borders for foreign tourists at the same time with Turkey, President Shavkat Mirziyoyev said during a video teleconference on June 3, EDNews.net reports citing AKIpress.
"We are holding talks with Turkey. As soon as they allow international tourism, we will allow it as well," the President said.
Domestic tourism resumed in Uzbekistan since June 1. The international tourism needs to be developed as well, the President stated.
Around 50 districts and cities remain in red and yellow quarantine areas (meaning active coronavirus cases there).
The President instructed to step up control over compliance with sanitary requirements after businesses reopened.
"We should lear to work and live in these conditions. There is no other way out. 50% quarantine and 50% economy, this is the method of work should be," the President said.
