Foreign direct investments (FDI) in Georgia amounted to $1.31 billion in 2019, which is a 0.3 per cent increase compared to 2018, show the latest adjusted data of the National Statistics Office of Georgia (Geostat), EDNews.net reports citing Agenda.ge.
Here are the top three investor countries: United Kingdom (18 per cent), Turkey (13.4 per cent) and Ireland (10.2 per cent).
The share of the three largest investor countries in the total volume of foreign direct investments reached 41.6 per cent in 2019.
50.4% of FDIs were attracted in finance ($272.1 million), energy ($261.6 million) and transport and communications ($126.8 million).
