29 610,8 mln. cubic meters of gas was transported via main gas pipelines in Azerbaijan over the last year and this is 7,6% more than compared to the previous year, State Statistics Committee reports.
According to APA, 41,4% of gas transport was carried out through the Baku-Tbilisi-Erzurum South Caucasus Pipeline. Thus, 12 267,7 million cubic meters of gas were transported through this pipeline (an increase of 17,8% compared to 2019).
The Baku-Tbilisi-Erzurum gas pipeline was constructed for transportation of gas extracted from the Shah-Deniz field located in the Azerbaijani sector of the Caspian Sea to Georgia and Turkey. The length of the pipeline is 980 km, while the diameter is 42 inches.
The first gas exported to the Baku-Tbilisi-Erzurum gas pipeline was pumped in March of 2007. The pipeline has 4 gas delivery stations, 1 in Azerbaijan and 3 in Georgia.
