On April 17, 2025, President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev received Tanja Fajon, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign and European Affairs of the Republic of Slovenia. During their meeting, both sides expressed satisfaction with the development of political relations between Azerbaijan and Slovenia, highlighting the recent political consultations held at the level of foreign ministers.
President Aliyev emphasized Azerbaijan’s commitment to strengthening ties with Balkan countries. The discussion also focused on expanding cooperation in the energy sector, with both parties exchanging views on future prospects and stressing the importance of enhancing ties between the business communities of both countries to boost economic and trade relations. The significance of the Middle Corridor as a vital transportation artery for developing economic and trade relations between Europe and China was also discussed, presenting favorable opportunities for Slovenian companies.
In this context, cooperation between the ports of Azerbaijan and Slovenia was explored.Additionally, the two leaders exchanged views on various other matters of shared interest.The meeting included an exchange of views on other issues of mutual interest.
