On April 24, a Holy Mass was held in Baku for the soul of Pope Francis.

EDnews reports that the Apostolic Prefect of the Catholic Church in Azerbaijan, Bishop Vladimir Fekete, led the service at the Church of the Immaculate Conception of the Blessed Virgin Mary, the main Catholic church in Baku.Bishop Vladimir Fekete addressed the worshippers with a sermon about the life and services of the late pontiff during the service.

He characterized Francis as an exemplary religious leader, emphasizing his visit to Azerbaijan and the support he provided to the Catholic Church in the country.It should be noted that Pope Francis died on April 21 at the age of 88 as a result of a stroke and subsequent "irreversible cardiovascular collapse."

Originally from Argentina, Pope Francis  ascended to the Holy See of the Vatican in 2013. He made more than 30 apostolic visits to different countries of the world, communicated directly with ordinary people, and demanded that meetings be held simply and without special security measures.
