Chinese new coronavirus detected in 2019 urged countries to take serious measures. When China confirms human-to-human transmission of the coronavirus, it had made a shock effect in the world.
Currently, 132 deaths by coronavirus were detected and 6,000 people were infected.
South Caucasian countries decided to temporarily ban flights to China and imports from China.
Azerbaijan
The Azerbaijani Food Safety Agency imposed a temporary ban on the import of livestock, animal products and seafood from China Chinese products. Additionally, the appeal of strengthening control measures in checkpoints was made for the Azerbaijani State Customs Committee.
A meeting of Azerbaijani Cabinet of Ministers chaired by Prime Minister Ali Asadov was held for discussing preventive measures against the coronavirus.
The Minister of Education of Azerbaijan Jeyhun Bayramov announced that 500 Azerbaijani students are studying in China and 62 of them have taken but seven students in Wuhan cannot be evacuated because of quarantine.
Armenia
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Armenia, the Embassy to the People’s Republic of China, the Ministry of Health and specialized agencies were closely monitoring the developments of coronavirus.
“We urge Armenian citizens to temporarily avoid visiting China unless it is strictly urgent,” the foreign ministry said.
According to Spokesperson of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Armenia, Anna Naghdalyan said that More than 400 citizens of the Republic of Armenia located in the People’s Republic of China have responded to the call to stay in touch with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Armenia and the Embassy of Armenia to China.
“There have been no suspicious cases, the experts continue to monitor the process with high vigilance. Joint actions in terms of raising awareness, border supervision, and information exchange are carried out together with the Healthcare Ministry, the Foreign Ministry and the State Service for Food Safety,” the spokesperson of The Armenian Healthcare and Labor Inspection Agency Liana Yeghiazaryan said.
The Healthcare Ministry of Armenia issued a warning for its citizens about what should be done in case of coronavirus suspicion.
Georgia
Georgia suspended flights to China amid the outbreak of coronavirus, the Georgian Civil Aviation Agency reports. The Georgian Ministry of Environment Protection and Agriculture announced an imposing a ban on the live animals from China.
Georgia is currently working on the evacuation of its five citizens from Wuhan the center of an outbreak of coronavirus.
