Azerbaijan and Iran are exploring the possibility of launching a direct flight route from Tabriz to Baku, the announcement was made by Bahram Sarmast, Governor of Iran’s East Azerbaijan Province, said.
EDnews citing Iranian media, quotes Sarmast as saying such a route would significantly contribute to the development of economic and tourism relations between the two countries.
Sarmast also stated that an agreement has been reached on student exchange programs between Iranian and Azerbaijani universities.
"During Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian’s visit to Baku, cooperation areas such as easing border procedures for Iranian students studying in Azerbaijan, initiating student exchanges between Iranian and Azerbaijani universities, and implementing joint research and technology projects were discussed," Sarmast said.
