On the criminal case investigated by the General Prosecutor's Office, information was received about crimes committed by the Armenian armed forces against the civilian population in the village of Bashlibel, Kalbajar district, and the burial places of the bodies of the brutally killed persons were determined.
According to the press-service of the department, today employees of the General Prosecutor's Office, together with representatives of other relevant state bodies, began search work in order to find the remains of those killed.
The Prosecutor General's Office announced that it will provide the public with detailed information on the results of the investigative actions carried out in this criminal case.
On behalf of the President of Azerbaijan, Ilham Aliyev, intensive investigative and operational measures are being carried out aimed at a full and comprehensive investigation of such crimes.
Recall that in 1993, during the first war in Nagorno-Karabakh, the Armenian armed forces committed a mass murder of civilians in Azerbaijan in the village of Bashlibel in the Kalbajar district of Azerbaijan.
