Malik Ayub Sumbal, senior journalist and editor in chief Eurasia Media Network while giving an exclusive interview on China Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC), which is the part of Silk Road.
The South Caucasus countries including Azerbaijan is highly hopeful and optimistic to play their role in the Silk Road and Maritime Silk Road which is the Chinese Belt and Road initiative. The oil driven economies have much potential to play their vital role in the connecting the world through this Silk Road.
Azerbaijan has a great potential among the South Caucasian countries and the country leadership is much interested to work on these lines.
Malik said, " The interest of Azerbaijan and South Caucasian countries including Georgia could be best understood by the Davos forum in which President Ilham Aliyev specially participated in the session of The Silk Road."
Malik Ayub Sumbal while interview said: " There are 4 to 5 percent GDP increase expected in Central Asia and South Caucasian countries after Silk Road construction."
"AIIB has allocated an enormous amount to build The Silk Road." Malik said.
Malik also emphasized that 400,000 to 500,000 containers will put a large amount in the economy of Azerbaijan while passed through the Transcaucasia route which is the part of The Silk Road.
Gwadar port has a great strategical place and it will connect Central Asia and Europe to South Asia and Far East Asia.
Malik said that the Abakila Deep Sea Georgia on then bank of Black Sea is another important place where The Silk Road trade will connect the countries of South Caucasus.
