President of International Eurasia Press Fund gave interview to Yeni Musavat newspaper.

Journalist: We know that you are in close contact with the UN officials.  We would like to ask a question about the UN resolutions condemning the occupation of Azerbaijani territories by Armenia and which have been working just on the paper since their adoption. From your opinion, it happens because Azerbaijan is not well represented in the United Nations or international organization does not want to hear our voice?

Umud Mirzayev: In fact, these resolutions had been adopted by the United Nations during the time of occupation.  If there was a problem in these resolutions, enemy would use it against us skillfully.  The implementation of resolutions has been failed, as there is double standards policy in the international arena. Azerbaijan is the first in the list of countries, which face double standards policy.  I am also one of the persons, who had been forcibly displaced. I am a representative of ruined land and it has urged me to voice my position in the United Nations. Sometimes, the moderators of the events cut my words and extinguished microphone.  However, at the same time, I was advocated by some delegations and they demanded moderators to turn on my microphone.  Therefore, there are forces that do not like us.

There are much work that we should carry out. In fact, we did not expect to see the betrayal of our neighbor. Suddenly, we faced the bloody confrontation and then we were disabled to prevent its consequences. We did not know how we should bring our troubles to the international arena.  We did not have Diaspora and lobby abroad for reaching our problems to the world. The key role in Armenian-Azerbaijan Nagorno-Karabakh conflict is played to the OSCE Minsk Group. The United States, Russia and France are not interested in resolving this conflict in accordance with the principles noted in the resolutions. They are just considering their own strategic interests. 

Journalist: Some people cannot agree with the activity of Armenia-Azerbaijan Peace Platform. You are one of the representatives of this Peace Platform. Moreover, you are one of the persons who suffered from the Armenian occupation.  What is your opinion about the establishment of the Peace Platform?

Umud Mirzayev: I used to be in trenches whole day during the war time.  I was responsible to show the reality of Karabakh to foreign journalists. I think, if we want to end the conflict, we should involve ourselves in the dialogue with Armenians.  We cannot expel Armenians from our country who accepted Azerbaijani citizenship.  Armenians who participate in the Peace Platform are against the criminal regime in Armenia.

Journalist: Do these Armenians to demand Armenia to stop occupation?

Umud Mirzayev: They require to return the occupied regions to Azerbaijan.  They know very well, the occupation has not brought happiness to Armenian people.  Many Armenians are leaving their country day by day.  We did not see this initiative ten years ago.  The first enemy for the Peace Platform is Armenian leadership.  Only aggressive Armenian nationalists reject to accept the Peace Platform. 

There are enough forces that support Armenia-Azerbaijan Peace Platform. I believe in future perspective of this platform.
