"Trump did what he had promised to do, and that fully fits into his program. He promised to “make America great again". And the key moment in his program was returning to the US of jobs that have begun to flow to other continents (mainly southeast Asia), where the labor is cheaper. "
A member of the expert council of the Institute for Innovative Development, director of the International Projects Department of IDI, Head of the Center for Geopolitical Studies Dmitry Rodionov, commented on the decision of Trump about the US withdrawal from the Paris climate agreement, as it is economically unprofitable for the country.
According to the expert, such program could not but frighten the transnationalists, who immediately took up arms against him and did not stop the attacks till now. That is what is the most frightening for global capital, not the desire to establish relations with Russia or to expel migrants from America.
D.Rodionov says: "Trump is completely consistent in carrying out his main slogan. One of the first decrees, he led the country out of the Trans-Pacific Partnership, which was created by Obama to oust China and Russia from regional trade, but it also tied the hands of the US itself. The real trade wars with China at Trump are yet to come, but before starting to return jobs to the US, it is necessary to remove all legislative barriers that hinder this"
In his opinion, the return of jobs implies the revival of American industry. Of course, this is incompatible with the implementation of the Paris Agreement. Trump just needed to get out of it. In order to somehow justify himself before the allies, he began to nod to China, saying that it did not fulfill the terms of the agreements, the data on the carbon being thrown out, and in general he composed the theory of global warming in order to force competitors to curtail production.
"It is clear that China in this issue is not an "angel”, but Trump wants to do everything the same as China, however officially and without any excuses necessary for the country bound by the treaty. In this regard, he simply plays openly and transparently. In addition to restrictions on its own industry, the contract also implies the payment of a number of programs. Trump wants to get rid of American taxpayers from financing various international affairs, which do not bring any profit to America," expert added.
"Finally, he wants to show adherence to his principles and readiness to go against everything to achieve his main goal. The problem is that Trump can create a precedent, and this act will be followed by others. There is already the danger of an uncontrolled reaction, " said Dmitry Rodionov.
