“We consider it very encouraging that there is a very strong commitment in Azerbaijan towards establishing an effective migration management policy strategy and implementation system that is basing its roots in effective transparent migrate centric legislation and that at in moment we know the government of Azerbaijan in a matter of fact IOM supports migration service of Azerbaijan developing its new migration strategy and multi-year strategy that will start in implemented from as early as 2017 or in 2018.”
It was mentioned to Eurasia Diary by the head of International Organization for Migration in Azerbaijan, Serhan Aktoprak during the talks on the “Passport Examination Procedure Manual (PERM) - Second Edition” event organized in frames of US Department of State in collaboration with State Border Service of Azerbaijan.
“We are supporting the government developing multi annual migration management strategy, that will be in capable to combine all the migration management aspects that allow it to be again in line with international standards which are fully complied with human rights, which are actually migrants rights nonnationals or nationals of Azerbaijan who travel, and as a matter of the fact we believe that this is a good process”, mentioned Sarkhan Aktoprak.
In the conclusion, he mentioned that. “This is a very good imitative, which is needed to ensure that Azerbaijan puts its stamp in good migration management by laying the foundation of an effective migration policy and strategy”.
