Azerbaijani Charlie Chaplin, ringmaster living in US Uzeyir Novruzov came back to his homeland. Mr. Novruzov, who got the place in Guinness World Record while standing on the 6-meters ladder during 7 minutes and 50 seconds, did not forget to visit the International Eurasia Press Fund (IEPF). He answered Eurasia Diary’s questions on his trip.
Eurasia Diary: Could you please inform us about the goal of your current visit to Azerbaijan?
Uzeyir Novruzov: I came to meet with my family on the New Year’s Eve. I had missed my mother a lot. IEPF office is so precious to me. I thought it would be nice to meet with you, too. I love Azerbaijan a lot. Here is my homeland.
Eurasia Diary: We were curiously watching you at the ‘Georgian Got Talent’. However, we had not seen you at the final stage. What was the reason for that?
Uzeyir Novruzov: You know that I was welcomed at the first stage. Everything was great. We signed a contract for every single stage. There was fire in a hotel in Batumi on the 24th of January. It was officially declared a day of mourning in Batumi because of 11 victims of fire.
Therefore, the next stage of the show was not organized. I guessed it was for the mourning. They wanted me to stay in Tbilisi for a week and to perform in the show after the mourning. However, I refused to stay because I had performance in US, too.
So, it was impossible to stay in Tbilisi for an additional week. They agreed with this situation. The final stage should have happened on the 26th of December, and I should have performed in that show. However, they did not say anything to me.
In fact, I want to remind them that I have contract with organizers. However, they canceled my contract which was for the final stage. I want to know reason for that. I have not been informed about that yet.
I think to hire lawyer for this case just after I arrive in US. I want my fans to know why I have not performed in the show. I also want to say that they have not paid my promotion for shows which I have performed.
Eurasia Diary: If they do not show any reason for that, do you think to sue them?
Uzeyir Novruzov: Yes, I think. If somebody asks to me about this show tomorrow, I shall not recommend to this person to attend the show. Therefore, I will deeply investigate this case.
Eurasia Diary: What is new in your career?
Uzeyir Novruzov: On the New Year’s Eve, a great show will be organized in Moscow, and I have gotten invitation for this event. At the end of the January, there will be Chinese New Year festival. Famous people will participate there, and me too. Next year, I will continue my traditional show program in US. I have already signed one-year contract with them. I have also invitations from the other countries. However, I think if consequences are similar to Georgian case, it will be better not to go. Therefore, I have not decided yet.
