The PKK terrorist organisation that has been making hostility towards the Turkish state for many years, continues its criminal activities. The terrorist organisation has recently killed 13 civilians in the Gara region of northern Iraq. More than 50 terrorists were killed as a result of operation Claw Eagle-2 in the region by the decision of the Turkish leadership.
"In fact, this terror should have ended long ago. However, the terrorists are still active due to foreign support. "Whoever is in power in the United States always continues to support the PKK and its allies," political scientist Irfan Kaya Ulger, a professor at Koceli University, told Eurasia Diary.
- Will the killing of 13 civilians lead to the expansion of Turkey's operations against the PKK terrorist organisation?
- First of all, I would like to note that the Turkish state has already chosen the most decisive position in the fight against terrorism. Thus, the fight against terrorism is not only a matter for the government. There are more subtleties here. Although it used to be a bit complicated, now it is possible to distinguish terrorists from ordinary citizens of Kurdish origin, and serious steps are being taken in this area.
As for the PKK terrorist groups, under normal circumstances, this terror should have ended long ago. However, as it is known, thanks to foreign support, such terrorist activities still continue.
I must emphasize that the support of the United States has a special role in these terrorist activities. I would like to remind you that last year, President Erdogan announced that the US government had given 5,000 trucks full of ammunition to the PYD, which is in the same category as the PKK. We understand the seriousness of the issue. We are aware that Turkey is facing not only the United States, represented by one president, but also the Pentagon, the US State Department and the CIA. The goal is clear: to create a Kurdish state in the region.
In fact, the United States is not the only one responsible. Former USSR, but now Russia, Iran, Greece, Israel and France have supported terrorist elements at various times.
I must also note with regret that over the past 40 years, the Turkish economy has suffered $ 800 billion in the fight against terrorism. Those who once tried to divide Turkey like Yugoslavia are now unable to reconcile with Turkey today.
- Interior Minister Suleyman Soylu harshly reacted to the killing of 13 civilians by the PKK, saying, "If we do not seize Murat Karayilan and tear him to pieces, this nation will spit in our faces." Does this mean that Turkey will take tougher steps in Iraq from now on?
- So far, Turkey has tried all feasible options to put an end to terrorism. It still continues to take steps since the late 1990s to end support for terrorism, making life easier for the Kurdish people. At the same time, the free operation of Kurdish language courses was ensured and the ban on military rule was lifted. TRT, the official body of the state, has opened a separate section in Kurdish. As a result of all these measures, support for the organisation has decreased and almost disappeared. Today, the PKK and its supporting organisations stand up with the support and protection of more imperialist powers. These organisations are deeply concerned about the growth of Turkey and the restoration of stability in the Middle East, Africa, Central Asia and the Caucasus.
Interior Minister Soylu's statement should be understood as a manifestation of a long-standing commitment to terrorism. This is a mobilization message of Suleyman Soylu against those who threaten the national security of the country.
- As Turkey's anti-terror operations expand in Iraq and Syria, what will be the reaction of the PKK and especially foreign forces supporting the terrorist leader, such as Karayilan?
- The main goal of foreign forces is to limit the scope of Turkey. Back then, when Turkey liberated Northern Cyprus, we were subject to an arms embargo. After the Gulf War, the United States and Israel did not provide drones to Turkey. As a result, Turkey developed its weapons industry and began producing more advanced drones.
Although the development of Turkey's economy and defense industry has been partially slowed down by external forces, it cannot be stopped. PKK terrorist groups can continue to carry out operations that could damage the Turkish economy with the support they receive from abroad. But I do not think it will affect for a long term.
- The US State Department condemned the PKK terrorists and said that Turkey would support it. How sincere can this be a step by the United States?
- The force in front of us is not only America. As I mentioned earlier, there are several centres of power that affect it. The most important of these is the Jewish lobby, which operates in the religious sphere. The Jewish lobby is directing US foreign policy with the tools at its disposal. The goal of this lobby in the Middle East is to divide the states that have the potential to threaten Israel's security. These organisations are trying to create instability in Turkey by using the United States as part of their lobbying activities.
The US State Department's condemnation of terrorism is symbolic, and this statement is made only in the context of diplomatic practice. It is well known that the US government uses terrorism as a tool and supports subcontracting organizations such as the PKK. The United States does not even hesitate to support organizations such as ISIS in order to strengthen its power in the region. Therefore, despite the hundreds of such statements made by the US administration, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Presidential Administration, the Turkish government and the Turkish people are well aware of what is going on behind the scenes. We all know that these statements are not sincere in any way.
