Today, three years have passed since the beginning of the Patriotic War. All Azerbaijani people remember our martyrs and those who died during the 44-day Patriotic War, as well as during the first Karabakh war and after the war.

The president of the International Eurasian Press Fund, Umud Mirzayev, shared his thoughts on this remarkable date with Ednews on the 3rd anniversary of the Patriotic War. He noted that on September 27, Azerbaijan wrote its heroic chronicle on its history.

"Today is the pride day of Azerbaijan. For me, the date of the Remembrance Day is another special occasion, cause this date is also the day the village of Ashagi Abdurrahmanli of Fuzuli district which I was born and grew up, was liberated from the brutal enemy. For the past 3 years, every year we proudly celebrate this day and remember our martyrs."

The president of the fund also spoke about the second historical victory - the full sovereignty of the territories of Azerbaijan. He proudly said that today Azerbaijan is returning to its ancestral lands.

"Today, the world community, which turned a blind eye to the 30-year occupation of Azerbaijan, and calmly watched the expulsion of 1 million refugees from Karabakh barefoot and with torture, is trying to create a tragedy from the removal of Armenians from Karabakh. This is, of course, the next game of the Armenians. No one is forcibly removed from Karabakh. They leave there with their own desire. In spite of all this, we have liberated the entire Karabakh region from Armenian separatists, and we will realize the "Great Return" that we have been waiting for years in a short time. Today, those lands are free at the cost of the blood of our martyrs and veterans. We can now go to those lands no longer at twilight, but when we want. No matter how hard I try not to get excited or show emotion when I say these words, I have a turmoil inside me.

May our martyrs find peace in paradise and may the god heal our veterans."
