Eurasia Diary: German Federal Prosecutor services have already revealed guilty of terrorist attack. In some cities of Germany, security forces have carried out investigation in many shelters where asylum seekers and refuges live. How can you appreciate the activity of German federal prosecutor service that is necessary for prevention of the next terror accidents?
Reiner Braun: Let me say that suffering people, families and victims not only live in Germany, they also came from other European states. People think what happen and start to criticize. I think that prevention of such attack is not possible. You can do something to act, when people attempt to be secure. I think that it is possible to stop numerous attacks, if actions are high developing, more policy and even military engage in city. The question is why these events happen. Violation has developed for last fifteen years or started on 9/11. All criminal actions have a background. When you want to prevent violence, you have to reduce background of violence -war and injustice economic system in the world.
Eurasia Diary: According to the report prepared by the Federal Minister of the Interior Dr. Thomas de Maizière many refuges and asylum seekers are playing a key role in perpetrating crimes. This claim is also supported by some citizens. What is your opinion on that?
Reiner Braun: We have more than one million refugees. There are number of criminals who are refugees in German cities. When terrorists, especially Islamic State want to come to Germany, it is easy to enter the country. They can get legal passport, they even can get money from terrorist organizations and they can arrive. However, I think that it is deeply wrong to connect all criminal and terrorist actions with refugees. Refugees are most poor people in the world. They don’t want to leave country but they have to. We have to welcome refugees in our country and we have to help them. About war, we are responsible in each refugee to come. Mainly, refugees are coming from Iraq, Afghanistan and Syria. Who is making war in these countries? We are responsible for refugees and we are responsible for their coming. We have to discuss background problems, why they are coming.
Eurasia Diary: The number of terrorist attacks worldwide and the number of people killed by acts of terrorism sharply increased this year. We can remember terrible terroristic attacks happened in Germany, France and Belgium. ISIS claimed responsibility for these actions. In your opinion, what kind of measures European Union has to carry in order to prevail against the next terroristic attacks?
Reiner Braun: More people were killed in traffic accidents than terrorist attack. Much more people were killed while they were drinking much and taking drug smoking than terrorist attack. We should be realistic for discussing that. My second point is that the European Union should come up with the background of terrorist attack and injustice economic situation in the world. We are responsible in these matters. Look at Africa. We are destroying agricultural exports in many African countries. What famers and their families do? They die there or they leave and go to the better place. What we have to do? We have to just change system. We have neo-liberal economic policies that destroy poor states in the world. It is main reason of refugees. Second reason is that the European Union is engaging in wars, we are exporting and producing arms to kill people. We have to stop wars and arm exports, we have to reduce military budget. This is that the European Union should realize to prevent terrorist attacks.
