The Turkish Presidential spokesman, Ibrahim Kalin, said that The President Recep Tayyip Erdogan convinced his US Counterpart Donald Trump to activate the mechanism of withdrawing the US forces from Syria.
Kalin said that the mechanism of withdrawing the US forces from Syria due to “Erdogan push Trump to take such a decision with convincible reasons during their phone call that was held in 14 December.”
The presidential spokesperson also said that a US military delegation will visit Turkey this week to hold talks about the issue.
"They will discuss how to coordinate (the withdrawal) with their counterparts," Kalin told the news conference.
“Our president said clearly that US and Turkey are not in need for PYD-YPG terror group to eliminate ISIS.” He added.
However, the US President Donald Trump has accepted an invitation by his Turkish counterpart, Recep Tayyip Erdogan, to visit the country, according to Kalin. The date has not been set.
The White House confirmed the invitation for Trump to visit next year, adding: "While nothing definite is being planned, the president is open to a potential meeting in the future."
