US President Donald Trump has drawn public attention to the statement of Senator Richard Burr, who earlier noted that after two years of conducting a probe into possible collusion between the US President and Moscow the US Congress intelligence committee had found no facts to prove it.

"Senator Richard Burr, The Chairman of the Senate Intelligence Committee, just announced that after almost two years, more than two hundred interviews, and thousands of documents, they have found no collusion between Trump and Russia! Is anybody really surprised by this?" Trump wrote on Twitter.

"If we write a report based upon the facts that we have, then we don't have anything that would suggest there was collusion by the Trump campaign and Russia," Burr said in an interview with CBS News on Thursday.

"If I can finish tomorrow, I would finish tomorrow. We know we're getting to the bottom of the barrel because there're not new questions that we're searching for answers to," the senator added.

The FBI and the intelligence committees of the US Senate and House of Representatives have been pursuing a probe into Russia’s alleged interference in the 2016 US presidential election led by Special Counsel Robert Mueller.

US President Donald Trump and the key members of his team have been repeatedly rejecting all the accusations concerning collusion between the Trump campaign and Russia. Moscow has also been refuting these allegations.
